Why HEE ?

haiti

Because Haïti is one of the poorest countries in the world.

Because Haïti has historical, cultural and personal links with France, Europe and many countries all over the world.

Because Haïtian children are the most important asset of the country.

Because education is the future of the people of Haïti.Qui est HEE ?

HEE Patron

Why become the patron of an association that aims to help the people of Haïti ? My fellow writers and I, aswell as artists and athletes, are often solicited for this purpose. Some of us are tempted to say, as are the people who are asked to donate:

« Again, another assocation to save Haïti ! »

« Again », as so many Haïtian charities exist in the Northern Hemisphere countries.

« Again » as so many non-governmental organisations from all over the world, some of them let's face it, pursuing objectives not always compatible with the Haïtian people's wellbeing.

« Again », because public opinion, especially those who contribute, are entitled to wonder when will Haïtian people see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Why then should one accept to be a patron of the HEE ? Because we all know, especially you donors, that everything begins with the children « Ti moun se lavi (« the child, is life » as they say in Haïti). It is the seed, once planted in the earth, will one day grow into a tree, and why not a vigorous mapou. (A symbolic tree in Haïti.)

Why accept the patronage of HEE ? Because the team is composed of people who I trust. Because I know the President of the association as sensitive, pragmatic, efficient ; I also know and above all his unfailing link with Haïti.

But alone he can do nothing. « Men anpil, chay pal ou » (the more arms, the lighter the burden). Thank you for them ! Thank you for us !
